Meet The Team
Rev. Ann Lock
Hi there! Thanks for visiting our website.
First of all: God's love is for you, exactly as you are right now.
Second: Wherever you are on your journey of faith, doubt, and wonder, you are welcome here.
Third: Living through a global pandemic is hard for all of us. You're not alone.
You're welcome to worship with us in person on Sundays at 10am. If you'd rather have coffee with me first, please email me and we'll find a time.
Our church community is meeting in person again, and continuing online. Shelton UMC is a member of the South Sound United Methodist Cooperative Churches, and we prepare Sunday worship together each week. You can tune in here on Youtube or on Facebook. The Co-op also offers online Bible studies, morning prayer, and groups working on uprooting racism. You can find a list of these online offerings here: Co-op Online Faith Formation.
Pastor Ann earned her Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree at Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York and was recruited to the Pacific Northwest Annual Conference of the UMC. Pastor Ann was ordained as an Elder in 2014 and has served at First UMC of Tacoma, Colby UMC in Port Orchard, and North Mason UMC in Belfair. In July 2017, she was appointed to Shelton UMC by Bishop Elaine Stanovsky, who serves as bishop of the Greater Northwest.
Ann became a United Methodist as an adult, but grew up in Minnesota as a Lutheran (ELCA). Before responding to her call to ministry, she worked in theater and in administration for several financial services firms in Chicago and New York City.
Ann and her husband Keven live in Shelton with their cats Scout & Thomas.
Heron has served here since February, 2011. He and his wife, Rhonda, came to Shelton seven years ago from Silverdale, WA. They live on 30 acres raising chickens, goats, horses, pigs, a few sheep, three dogs and three cats. They also have three greenhouses that his stepdaughter manages.
He loves reading; mostly books on spiritual themes and the occasional novel. He enjoys music; all kinds except country! One of his favorite movies of all time is Forest Gump. On the psychologically weird side, it would be The Talented Mr. Ripley. He loves to watch NFL football but he's not a Seahawks fan- go Broncos!
